This being Baby No1, I really have no idea about how this works best. When Bub is ready to first start fitting into the BBB and Cute Tooshies Bamboo Delights, i was wondering, how much of the boosting do I use?
The BBB come with a small and a long snap in, and the CT have a trifold booster and another small one to lay in. For normal day use, do I use all boosting to start, or some, or none? What have other mums done before?
I figure there's not much point in using (and washing and drying) all the nappy bits if I realistically don't need to use them all?
I have no experience with the Cute Tooshies ones, but I have used the Baby Beehinds fitteds. To start with, you can remove the long booster and just use the smaller one, snapped into the back so that you are able to fold the front of the nappy down. Once bub starts wetting more and needs more absorbancy, you'd then snap the small one into the front and the longer one into the back, folding to put the most layers where you need them (front for boy, centre for girl).
I'd guess with the CT that you'd leave out the trifold to begin with.
I'd wash the whole lot the first 6 or so times, as the bamboo or hemp doesn't reach it's full absorbancy until then. That way when you need to start using them, the extra boosters are ready to go.

Another pink bundle due June 2010
The prewashing idea sounds like a good plan
And I have no clue what these nappies are like but it won't stop me pitching in anyway lol - if you put in too much boosting, and the underneath layers don't get wet through to by the time you change baby, then a) you know you can leave those out next time and b) you don't (imo ) need to wash them anyway, just use them in the next nappy...
That may be completely irrelevant since I don't know the actual system, but y'know, in general...
