Default hemp fleece, did I buy wrong type??

I was wanting to make some boosters for my pocket nappies, I bought a metre of hemp fleece as it said it could be used to make boosters. It is smooth on 1 side and fluffy on the other. It looks very different to the stuff that bought booseters are made from. Did I buy the wrong stuff?? Will this work??

Sounds like you got Hemp french terry, I used that for my boosters, I just put the two fluffy sides together and made a long thin booster then I overlocked around the edges, and I just fold it into three and stuff it in my pockets and it works really well.

Sounds like you got hemp fleece, fleece is just brushed terry on one side (fluffy) and is a knit looking fabric on the other side

Yes, it is the right stuff to make boosters with. It is a personal choice as to whether you want fluffy side out or smooth side out. It really doesn't matter in the end since you normally will cover these with a microfleece liner.

As to how many layers... how many will your machine/overlocker sew? I usually make mine 2- 3, if 2 layers they are normally the long fold up kind, which will also take less time to dry.

If i make an hourglass shaped insert, I was thinking of putting a layer of terry inside, would this help, not necessary, to too long to dry???

I'd say the hemp fleece would be more absorbent and less bulky, I'd just use that. I'd do what Karen suggested and have two layers sewn together in a long booster to fold up.

it depends what premade ones you're comparing your fabric to.
I've had nappies with terry and nappies with fleece boosters (bought).
    It will be fine
