I have one toddler i cloth but use disposables at night as I havn't found a cloth Nappy I like for night times, any help with ideas would be great, I also have an older (3) child who is toilet trained in the day and doesn't want to wear nappies at night but still has a few to many wet night to stop them, are there any nappy pants like the Huggies goodnight's available that can be used for night times, Anyhelp would be great. Back at the start of my cloth nappy journey, I simply placed a trifold booster into nappy....sometimes another booster on outer of nappy and then a wool cover on top Yep very bulky.

I think to begin with, a fitted cover system would be best until you work out how many absorbant layers your little one can handle, then venture out into AIO type naps.

I use a sandman night nappy from sustainable hemp products, with a Disana wool cover from weewuns over the top. That hasn't been outweed by my 16month old as yet! And it has a nice high rise because she is a tummy sleeper.

You can get pull up, pocket, night pants custom made through Noonee Wilga - Home, she is very lovely and helpful, these are a fleece outer, so are rather puffy under pj's but very successful, also GF does custom night pants, Genesa Forge (Powered by CubeCart) or you can buy premade pocket night pants, like starbunz or bummis, which are also a pullup. There are also side snapping pocket night pants for this age, but I have found that the snaps leave marks on my girls sides. These can all be stuffed to what ever absorbency you need.

I am not sure how old ur toddler is, but I have heard that issy bear night nappies are great!! They are said to last up to 13 hours. Not sure what size they go to, might be worth checking out, not too expensive either.

I've found Keester Kovers made by possum pouches to be fantastic for night time. I have some blueberry training pants which we sometimes use at night but find that they are only good for 1 wee, so if you did get a training pant, you'd have to make sure it had a lof of absorbency.

    Good luck!

when you buy night nappies (for your youngest) and trainers (for your 3yo), these are not cheap items.

one way to make it a less expensive experience, is to measure your children, and tell those measurements, to whomever you are considering buying night nappy/trainer from, so they can ensure you buy the right size for YOUR child.

    so measuring
    - around top of thigh
    - their waist
    - their rise (start measuring at the navel, take tape down under their legs, and up the other side, stop at small of back, roughly opposite where their navel is on other side).

the rise is the most important bit, esp for a night nappy.

knowing what sort of nappies your youngest suits (in the day), would help narrow the field for selecting a night nappy. for example, if your child suits front snapping nappies in the daytime, i would try to list some front snapping NIGHT nappies for you.

for your 3yo, some trimmer "don't look like a nappy" type trainers for night?

first of all, a hybrid style, an AIO trainer, that also has a pocket, so gives you the option to put an insert in, if needed, is the Starbunz (at mother's instinct, a nz website). this is a trim, funky looking trainer. looks trimmer if you don't stuff the pocket naturally.

    other pocket styles of trainers:
    happy heiny
    bumwear (at brindabella baby)
daddledoo (at wahmnaps store, under daddledoo nappies)

something else to thing about, we had success, NOT using pj bottoms, but instead using woollen longies or fleece flongies.

Longies need to be handwashed and lanolised, once every month, or more if poo gets on them.

Flongies get washed after every use in the washing machine, dry quickly too.

ANother trick with night nappies, try not to tuck ANYTHING into the night nappy, e.g singlet, pj top. Just like day nappies, if the onesie has snaps in the crotch area, that item needs to be a bit loose, not firm, to avoid compression leaks.

my child has just tt-d, but we used night nappies from when she was five days old to when she tt-d at 28 months. i loved the no leaks, i loved not having all the extra linen laundry that other parents talk about, i loved picking up my dry child in the morning. i was surprised how easy it was to do night nappying. but you do need the right tools for the job.
