Default Best covers with terry flats

    Hi ladies,

I met up with a relative today and her 5 month old DS .... and introduced her to the world of cloth nappies. She had been considering cloth but had no idea where to start and what her options were. Another clothie in the making

Anyway she is on a pretty tight budget so we are starting out with some cotton and bamboo prefolds. When she got home tonight she also said that she wants to give terry flats a go too.

So my question for you lovely ladies is, what covers would you recommend and what size for terries? .... I was thinking bummi's, but not sure of size ..... her bub is a slim little thing, even the small prefolds had heaps and heaps of growing space left (tried a bamboo prefold and small PUL cover - all booroi).

    TIA

I use Baby Beehinds covers (BBH Nappy Cover (PUL with Velcro) - Baby BeeHinds). They are quite roomy and stretchy, so fit well over flats. I'd suggest a small. They're also a great economical choice at $12 each.

I can't compare the covers mentioned by pp because I've never used them. I had a bummis cover and whizz kids cover (fleece cover) both of which I really liked. Other than that I used woollen covers.

We use flats and our favourite covers are the ones by BBH especially the wool ones.

    hello sweetpea,
we love wool covers here the BBH ones are really nice if your not looking for a soaker, and for PUL we have thirstys, ME RIKKI, imsy vimsy. They are all good (but dont get much use because we love wool) and all have leg gussets, the motherase and imsy are both generously sized (especially the imsy) so either would be fine with prefolds and flats and are pretty similar to look at so if i was in the market for PUL id get the cheaper out of those two. good on you for the conversion!!!!- your little ones bottom must be getting pretty close now!! how exciting

Thankyou Fizz ... she is actually my third conversion since I found MCN's and I have not even used one yet! I can be very persuasive when I need to be!!!

Our little bottom is not that far off, it might be sooner rather than later if she keeps poking my cervix like she has been tonight!

I made up the cot today and I keep walking in and looking. The nursery should be all finished by the end of the weekend, so yeah far to say we are all getting excited!

The 2 covers I have found to fit flats well are the motherease air flow covers and the Blueberry coveralls. Both are quite generous.

Isn't that the strangest feeling in the world? There is no way on earth you can describe that feeling to anyone! Must look like some kind of trampoline from in there
