Default What works better for you - pockets, AIOs or fitteds?

Just wanting to know, what works better for you and why?

    Pockets, fitteds or AIOs?

We have mainly AIOs, although Im thinking of sewing up some pockets - however, not sure if they are absorbant enough.

What are your pocket inserts made out of? Are they absorbant enough?

    Thanks.

Oh this is a mixed question!

I use all of them [well I used all of them ].

AIO's I have always had a HUGE stash of AIO's, easier for my DH when I was at work, he has his pile of nappies he knew just needed to be wacked on

Pockets Have a slight addiction to SB SS So have lots of pockets too. I like them cause no need for a cover [with most of them], and the frying <---- now that's a typo. I meant the drying factor is fabulous

Fitteds... two words... "Wooly love" My favouritest of all nappy types Oh and they are quicker drying than AIO's too.

My absolute favourites for around home are fitteds and woolies, that's pretty much all I use as I prefer the natural inners on her bum.

For going out it's AIOs and pockets.

I like pockets as there is no fold out booster for poo to get caught on (and my hubby whinges when C has pooed and he has to wash it off a fold out booster) But I'm getting lazy and sick of stuffing them, so I just tend to reach for the AIOs

The good thing about pockets is you can adjust the absorbency. I made my inserts out of hemp french terry and bamboo. I made them long and skinny so they fold out to reduce drying time, and I did 1/3 of the length in bamboo fleece and 2/3 of the terry doubled over, so the smooth side is out. (think they are around 90cm long and 10cm wide, but just whatever fits in your pockets! I found the terry good, as it is a lot less bulky than just using the bamboo I had on hand. And they are heaps absorbent enough.

we liked pockets the best.. Because they dry really fast and you only have to put one thing on (not 2 things liek you do with fitteds and covers)... and you can use the same nappy for day or night use, just boosted differently.

I made most of our inserts - mostly hemp terry, and I used microfibre cleaning cloths folded in 4 on top.

I prefer fitteds with woolies But I love my AI2's as well. I have a single pocket nappy, and I love that. It's a blueberry and really good for nights or naps as I can boost as much as I want

fitted+cover for birth to about 6mths or when poo gets solid
    pocket and AIO/AI2 after that
    woolies/longies/soakers/PUL covers any time.

    Fav night combo
PUL outer, fleece inner pocket, stuffed to the max with bamboo with longies over the top.

pref fitteds with 'attached' boosters for a good compromise between 'all sewn in' and drying time.

Pockets are my favourite, but I use AIOs for short periods and fitted nappies for sleep time. Just depends on the situation, really.

Ooo - what a thread starter with that question - LOL

I like fitted and woolies whilst they are young (under 18 mths). Between 6 - 18 months I also throw a few AIO's and Pockets into the mix. I dont find much difference. Then from about 18 months onwards I tend to reach for AIO's and Pockets and fitted and woolies as a second choice. I dont find that woolies last that well on a toddler.

I like AIO's for out and about even under woolies.
at home I prefer BBB under woolies or fleece/pul covers.
at home I find it most important to have a one size fitted so its easier for DH.
and I can just grab any nappy and know it will fit.
