Default confused again about polar fleece?

Hmm I thought I had finally gotten my head around this.

Polar fleece is being used for nappy covers because it doesn't like water...isn't that correct?

Well I just saw some nappies on ebay from a maker called "tiny frogs" and it states inner is made of fluffy polar fleece with 4 layers of polar fleece in wet zone for extra absorbancy? So how does that work?

    Thanks
    Jane

    I'd say it doesn't!

Polar fleece is not absorbent at all, liquid goes straight through it!! it is usually used for the inners or liners I think.

Something absorbent in the wet zone would be flannel, bamboo, hemp, cotton. I'd save my money and buy some good nappies, from a reputable site/seller!!

Polar fleece isn't absorbent - it's 100% polyester. Sometimes people mislabel the fabrics or make typing errors, though. Best to contact the seller if you're interested in purchasing but are unsure

I wont be buying them. I was just browsing and came across them and got all confused about how the seller could be saying that the fleece was absorbent. at first I thought the photo was of the nappy inside out, like how some aio's have fleece on outer.

Thanks for confirming for me that it doesn't seem right. lol. thought I was getting my head around all this mcn stuff and silly ebay sellers go and confuse me!!

janem, i've used covers like you describe .. they go over the nappy or prefold as the waterproof cover .. the extra layers of fleece are only in the gusset usually to prevent compression leaking. it works well if the fleece is good quality. but usually wicks a little in slings or wraps or med/heavy o/n wetters xX

I had a look at the listing and it actually just says fleece inner which could be bamboo fleece or something like that too, not polar fleece.
