How often do you wash your nappies before using?

As the title says, how often do you wash your nappies before using them for the first time? I know that nappies don't reach their max absorbancy until they've been washed a number of times but how many times do you wash before actually using??

I used to wash them about 3 or 4 times.

LOL! Yes, whole reason I'm asking is because I REALLY want to use the WC I ordered!! Have washed once, and will wash again tomorrow and I want someone to say that's enough

Nahh, just remember that it won't be as absorbent as it can be until you get up to the 8+ washes bamboo needs

Yeah what Donna said about 3 - 4 times, some makers will tell you 5 - 6 times and then it will still take a few more washings after that for the their full absorbency to be there. However I posted a similar question a while back and was told that a couple of initial washes is fine and then start using them and washing them as normal and they will still build their absorbency. I only washed my last new stash 2 times and started using them and their absorbency has been fine.

Really you can use it after 1 wash but just be aware that it won't be quite as absorbant as it will become

I only ever do two washes before I put them on, I don't dry them in between I just do two cycles through the machine - dry them and onto bums they go!

I want to give their bums the luxury of new soft fluffy yumminess before they get washed into stiffness.
