Default Help

Ok thursday night ds woke up completely dry no wee at all, last night he wee'd thru a bits for bots sweetdreams pocket, 1 hemparoo, 1 peapods bamboo booster and a peapods microfibre insert and the nanna knit soaker, it was a huge nappy, the soaker has only been lanolised 3 days ago, and it was absolutely soaking last night. Also his wee smelt that bad it burnt my nose hairs

There was no leak anywhere just a whole soaking nappy inserts and cover and pants.

I just dont know what else to do. I have a vbsn coming my way but I cant believe how much boosting we had last night with no luck it seems like nothing will work.

He has about 160ml of milk in his cot at bedtime and he didnt wake during the night for me at all, he went down at 7:30 woke at 6:45am.

Not sure if anyone can offer any more idea but whats your thoughts?

We are off to GP today as he has had a bad ear infection ongoing for a while, I am going to mention the smelly wee, I have never smelt it that bad.

I find Flynn goes though stages where we will get the same but he will have a drink at 6.30pm and then go to bed at 7.30am and sleep through till morning.

Are you changing at 10.30am when you feed him or is that a nappy from earlier.

are you boosting in the nappy or between nappy and cover?

Are you changing at 10.30am when you feed him or is that a nappy from earlier?? He doesnt have anything at 10:30, he sleeps thru rarely wakes unless he cannot find a dummy or his blanket or unwell then he gets a sippy cup of milk, sometimes panadol and back to sleep. Usually in bed at 7:30pm and doesnt wake till after 6:00am.

He gets his nappy on right before I give him his milk sippy cup in his cot and then I close door and dont usually hear from him till morning.

The bits for bots sweetdreams is a big pocket that can be stuffed heaps, like I said a hemaproo and a peapods bamboo inserts and also a greenkids microfibre. Nothing outside the nappy they pocket is very big.

Chelsea is a huge wetter overnight & I stuff her large Sweetdreams with a bamboo flat, large hemparoo & a couple of small hemp boosters as well. It is huge but she still manages to wet through to the outside of the nappy.

How many washes have the nappy & inserts had? Maybe they haven't reached their full absorbancy yet?

Sorry no idea where I got 10.30am from and I meant 10.30pm. Gosh what a doofus I am today.
Perhaps one of Jolly jumbuck wool boosters might be a good idea.

WOW !!! What a heavy wetter!! I have a theory with mine who sometimes is dry overnight, that she wees just before sleep or just as she wakes up!! My Mum used to find this with me and I was usually dry (apparently) if she woke me in the morning - which in her day saved having to wash cot linen as she only had terry squares and I had skin that reacted to plastic pants and fluffies didn't come with big enough leg holes!!! SOOOO you could try waking him in the morning so catch the morning wee!!!! Meanwhile, he sounds like the kind of wetter that Ali (Mum2henry) has to deal with. She has mentioned on previous threads about using two soakers with absorbent in between and also two hemp nappies with extra boosters. If I was in your situation, I would PM her - I reckon she's had heaps of experience with heavy overnight wetters.
I hope you get a solution fast!!!
cheers,

i think if they dont wee just before bed, they do it just before they fall asleep in their bed ( so you may not know) and then its too much wee combined with a wee during the night or as soon as they wake.now i sometimes know as bree either does or does not wee in the potty before bed, and sometimes i check her nappy before i go to bed (12/1pm)...but sometimes i dont check now as it know the nappy will last
so ime toddlers do bigger wee's less often as they can hold on for longer, but soon after that they seem to wet less at night as they learn more of their bladder control?...

hopefully its just coz he's sick theniykwim
smelly wee would prolly be from being sick or panadol
or old wee from at bedtime??? toddler wee stinks in the morning

the double soaker or wool booster idea sounds good to me. im not sure how old he is, but perhaps encourage a wee in the potty before bed or dont change into his night nappy until you are as sure as can be that he has just done a big wee before bed....or change him when you go to bed (amazingly bree can sleep through this!).

can you try adding another microfibre??

protect the bed jic....put longies or fleece pants over the soaker, or have a fleece bedmat something??....

goodluck
