My 15 month old has dry periods and then the super wee, so just wondering how often do you change the nappy, or do you feel if they are actually wet at different times of the day and just change when you feel damp ? he seems to have just started doing this lately, he is night weaned so this is really only happening by day where all his pants and onesie get wet.

Mila is a heavy wetter at night...I would say she is a medium to heavy wetter during the day. Examples of the nappies she would wear are HB with a booster, BBH/BBB with both boosters, IB AIO. We change about every 3 hrs and the nappies are very wet by that time.
Not sure if that helps!

I tend not to go by the clock at all- when they wee, they get a clean nappy. That could be after 10mins or 2 hours- just depends. Neither or my kids wee frequently- but when they do, that one wee soaks a boosted bamboo fitted or hemp/microfiber stuffed pocket.

we were change as soon as we knew folk too - and will be again this time
so it was more how often do you check in this house (if the cues weren't obvious) - so i'd check pretty frequently too - of course it was rather easy here at that age as it was warm and we didn't use covers so you could see as soon as it got wet hth karen

Welcome to dry spells and big wees!!!
We have one sort of advantage! Our DD tends to have strong smelling urine, so we often pick it up pretty quick. The other one is that a big wee tends to make the nappy heavier and it droops a bit!! We are also a one wee can mean fully wet hemp fitted with its booster - and extra microfibre folded cloth if I suspect a really big one eg first wee for the day!! I have never checked constantly though - I'd go crazy. I also make sure I have good enough nappies that they can hold a big wee, so she can get on with learning, exploring and having fun and especially when out, not being interupted by Mum wanting to change her nappy all the time. Cloth nappies shouldn't mean toddlers are disadvantaged by more frequent nappy changes and wet clothes. Some days DD wees a few times, some days lots, probably dependent on the size of each one!! I get a feel for the day and go from there. I definitely check before heading out, highchair use, naps etc!! Have fun with your kids,
