My 23 month old DD has been doing bizaare things the last couple of months (or mayeb this is normal for her age??) - some days she'll hold on to wees for hours (like 4-5 hours), and other days she'll wee through everything I put on her including an Itti Bitti AIO Bamboo which would normally hold anything she throws at it!! On a number of occasions she'll totally wet through nappy and clothes 3 or 4 times in one day, then it won't happen for 2-3 weeks, then she'll do it again.
I'm not even sure what I'm hoping to hear form people... maybe just that she's not a complete freak? I know I can't really do a lot about it because I never know when these days are coming... but perhaps I could have some super-heavy-duty day nappies sitting there for when she does have these days and after the first big wee I can put something "better" on her....? I prefer to use AIOs now, but do I really need to go back to having some fitteds and PUL covers for these times? She's done it twice at day care now (goes one day per week), so I don't REALLY want to send her with a dozen different nappies for "just in case", but also sending 3 changes of clothes is a pain!!Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ![]() |

Be grateful it's not all the time Lori. That's how Chelsea has been for probably the last 6 months. I use bamboo fitteds with PUL covers under woolies because that's the only way to prevent wet clothes.

Alana is also the same! More so because she's a water bottle thief and I can't always monitor how much she has to drink so no advice here either, sorry, but she has wet through an itti bamboo AIO in 45minutes!

Maia went through that stage about six months ago and was wetting through everything, but seems to have settled down a bit now thank goodness! (and is also doing some of those giant wees in the potty) One thing I found at daycare is that often when they changed her, they didn't check to see if the nappy was wet, so sometimes they changed her out of a dry nappy and she might have done a wee, then done another one soon after causing it to leak, whereas if I was at home, I would change her nappy as soon as I noticed it was wet, rather than a 2 hourly schedule iykwim.
If I go out now and know that we she may be in a nappy for longer than normal ie if she will fall asleep in the car or ergo, I tend to use woolies or flongies over an AIO just in case.
