Clearing cache and cookies?

I'm baa-ack! I was having trouble logging in (obviously all OK now) but I was feeling a bit silly because I don't know how to clear my cache and cookies . (I'm not very computer savvy.) Can someone please tell me how so I'll know for next time? This thread might also help out anyone else who is having trouble logging in because they're computer illiterate like me

I'm using Internet Explorer if that's of any significance. I tried searching the help options but of course it's useless (as always).

If you go to "Tools" then "Internet Options" [last one in the drop-down box] ....it should open up up to the "General" tabbed page.

In the middle of this box is the bit you need .... delete cookies.
The "delete files" are the temperorary files that are placed onto your hard-drive like cached pages.

Be aware that if a page you visit has a password to enter certain areas ... like here at NC you need to log-on ... then these are also deleted = they are referred to as "session cached" files.
