Hi Ladies,
Yes a few people have commented on this over the past few days. It is some banners that are causing this to happen. Apparently there are a few that are in a different format to others.
I'm asking some of the more techo minded people if there are any other solutions for those of you who don't want to download anything.

i get it too and it started when the new banner went up. I get it on EB as well, it drives me insane!

the activex control is for flash animations, if you download and install the activex control, ie. flash player, you wont have the problem.

what if my DH does not want me to download and install this player?? will I have to just put up with it?!?!

Buy a program to block banners? Realistically downloading the control or a program to block it are the only ways to stop it prompting you

we already have a firewall installed, which blocks banners and pics, so I cannot see the banners. it's not stopping this pop up message though

Your firewall and blocker obviously doesn't stop flash animations then.

oh well. just have to put up with it! DH will tell me to stay out of NC before he'll let me download the player! LOL

Well it's pretty unrealistic of him to think that there aren't a huge number of websites out there using flash animation. Despite this, It is disappointing to know that members are blocking the banner ads. off to find out what we can do to get around firewalls and blockers....
