Default Adding pictures. - Instructions

To upload pictures to use in your posts and signatures you can now use the Manage Attachments feature that can be found when you post a message/new topic or reply to a topic.

To add a picture to your post to share with members on the boards

Important! You have to resize your pictures first! otherwise they will be too big, and will take too long for members to open the page. A good size is 500 x 400 pixles, or smaller.

1. Start a post as per normal.
2. Before you submit your post, scroll down and click on the Manage Attachments button. A window will open.
3. Click on Browse, find your picture on your computer,
4. When you have found your picture, select it, by clicking on it once, then click Open.
5. Click Upload.
6. Once your picture had finished uploading click Close This Window
7. Then click Submit.

To put a picture in your avatar

Important! You have to resize your pictures first! The max size for avatars is 80 X 80 pixels.

To put a picture in your avatar (the picture next to your name on the left)
You will need to resize and save the file.

You dont need to upload the pic first. Instead you can go to the top of the page and click Quick Links select Use Custom Avatar then click Browse. you will then need to find the picture on your computer, select it and clcik Open.
If you have uploaded your pic elsewhere (like your web server/personal web page) and have a url, you can enter yoour avatar Url int he box provided. then click Save Changes.

It sounds complicated but once you have done it you will find its not that hard after all!

I am still available to resize pics & put fancy writing on them if your having trouble with this.

If you have any trouble with it al all, just PM me

An avatar is the picture next to your name. If you click on "User CP" on the left side of the top green bar, you will be taken to a screen. On that screen, you will see one of the options on the left "Edit Avatar". Click on that and upload your picture (as long as its the right size.)

How do you put a pic in the actual post (ie not as an attachment, but in amongst the words)? I consider myself reasonably computer-savvy, but I can't figure this out for the life of me.

it needs to be hosted somewhere (like photobucket/a blog)...
then put on either side of the link; [img] [/ img] tags (with no spaces in the brackets)...

Ah, thanks for that. And that explains my dilemma. So if you put the link in the text will the pic show or do you have to click the link to see it?
