I just recieved an email with the sender as the above. I am sure that name is familiar to me from here.

ANyway it looks like spam but on the list of who it is sent to there is alot of people on there from here that I have dealt with either through a store.

Is someone sharing information or what could be going on?

Just realised that it has only sent to people who start with S and a few T's so there could be many more emails out there.

i'm always getting spam from names i know
i think it's one of their tricks
i've even got spam from me!!! and i KNOW i didn't send it
i learnt very early in my online life (which is only about 4 years ago) that if i reply i'm bothering someone who has no idea that stuff is being sent in their name

I think she has a virus and is sending out emails without her know.
I was going to send her an email but I'd already deleted the email :doh

I have been getting quite a few lately from people on here (mainly hotmail accounts but I think one was a Gmail account) an electrical appliance store or something like that

and by the look of it they are just sending it out to everyone in their address book

I let the people know cause they are obviously hacking their account or they have a virus so their security needs bumping up

Most people reply and thank me a few people just don't respond

the way i understand it - it doesn't have to be her computer that's been violated - just someone's computer that has her address in their address book - so it's good to warn her but it may not actually be here iykwim - they can use any of the addresses out of any address book they've got access to and will do so; or she may have entered a competition and some of those will sell their email lists to help fund their organisations (why i don't enter any of those free win a car type things at shopping centres, theme parks etc - just a way to get a good email list)

Yes I had this happen to me a few weeks ago from my gmail (and wems let me know )

I was appreciative to know and felt so bad that all my contacts got spammed. I did change my password as precaution though. So I wouldnt reply but just send an email to let her know maybe

I just let her know and she said hubby is looking in to it now for her.

I had the Tina Jarman spam yesterday and thought the name looked familiar too. A few friends have had their yahoo accounts spammed in recent weeks all with the electrical store spam mail. FWIW I didn't reply to Tina's spam.
