    Default Telstra Cable extremely slllloooooooowww at night?

    Just wondering whether anyone else has Telstra cable internet & has problems with it being super slow in the evenings/night? We only recently switched from Broadband (with another ISP) to cable & we are finding it so frustrating trying to use the internet once the girls are in bed. It literally takes anywhere from 2-5 minutes to load 1 page

    That is slow!

    One possible reason is that activity in your area increases at night as people set up things to download. I would still not accept that speed on cable.

    That's what I figured was going on too.

    Drives me absolutely crazy because that's my prime study time but almost everything I need to study is on the www.

    Trouble is, I can't be bothered ringing Telstra to complain about it.

    Considering how much you pay for this "service" maybe it's time to start complaining Mel?

    Not like they can do anything if they don't realise it's a problem.... maybe email them to save phone time?

    Yeah, I will. I just realised we've been charged $349 for something we were told would be free so I need to ring them anyway

    Stupid Telstra The worst decision we ever made was to switch to them. They've been nothing but trouble

    We were with them before and yeah didn't like them at all

    Now we're with Optus and very happy with it Perhaps you might want to switch to someone else Mel if it's an ongoing problem?

    We've only just switched to Telstra Ying so we're stuck with them for 2 years now

    Not if they aren't giving you the service you signed up for Mel!

    The Telecommunications Ombudsman is there if you are having too many issues with them.

    Make a complaint about the speed, i've never had speed issues with cable, so it's possibly your line. If you complain they send out a tech to look and if you complain 3 times without resolution they send a telstra rep to test the lines and replace cables where required.
