website techno's please read I NEED HELP!!

Alrighty, I have changed hosts for my store.


Now it's been aaagggggeeeesssssssss. I have done my bit with the ns1.. & ns2.. pointing to where they should be. Alls good, done exactly the same way I had it with my old host.

Now, for some reason it just won't show on her end, apparently she's getting some error message. Basically she's telling me my DNS isn't pointing where it should be. I have asked 3 times for her to send me the IP addresses to go with the ns1 & ns2, which is what made it work last time with my old host. And she hasn't.

And also the addy she sent me for my store is just "http://my-store.au.com" with my old store host it was "http://www.my-store.au.com" shouldn't it have the www this time too?

I'm starting to be totally over it and really pissed! I want this sorted so I can get on with it.... I have 4 out of 5 kids really sick atm, I really don't need this.

Dare I say if she won't give you what you ask for you should rethink you giving her your money...

But domains should be set to have both http://www.stuff and http://stuff going where you want - incase visitors type the address in either way. Unless it's a subdomain of the site - like with CPS for example both http://www.clothpadshop and http://clothpadshop work... but the stores subdomains can only work as http://store.clothpadshop..... So if you are actually http://yourstore.theirstore then it's most likely that you can't use the www. Does that make sense?

I would suggest, if you can't get her to send the IP addresses, then can you just "forward" the domain to where it needs to go? like if they have set you up a http://yourstore.them.com then you can just make your domain name "forward" to that address..... A couple of advantages of that is that it's easier, and if you decide to move later, it's a lot easier to make your domain point where you want it to go.

I'm sure Shane could help if you get stuck Donna - but I'm with Obsi if you aren't getting what you paid for - go elsewhere. It might be a pain, but it sounds like you are already frustrated and annoyed and what happens if you need something done urgently?

and if it's something as simple as getting your domain set up and she can't do it - then how is she going to cope if you have other issues?
