How do I pretty up my blog?

I've gone back to my revisit my blog today & I want to start updating it again. I've spent way too long searching the web for a cool layout to use but when I try to upload it to my blogger page, it says I have to delete all the 'gadgets' that I've added to my side column. But I don't want to delete my gadgets

This is the template I want to use Pathway Blogger Template Does anyone know if I can still use the layout & keep all the boxes down the side?

I'm so hopeless at this technical stuff

No help here - every time I mess with my blog I end up losing something

Is it possible to save (copy) your gadgets and paste them in to the new template

I haven't done blogger templates before but I'm good with making wordpress templates so could probably get that template to support your widgets/gadgets with a bit of research.

I set up a test blogger account to see the composition of templates. It turns out that when you add sidebars they get put into the template. Very silly in my opinion but that's another discussion.

However if you understand XML then you can copy the widgets from one theme to another.

If you go Layout -> edit HTML -> and click 'download full template'. If you upload it here I can take the gadget/widget data and put it into the other template.

I've downloaded the template but I can't work out how to upload it here Did I mention that I'm not good with this sort of stuff?
