Default Char, my grown up little girl!

Last week Charlotte developed a pretty nasty rash (rare for her) cause she pooped overnight in her nappy and slept on it for a few hrs with a urine soaked nappy I am guessing...she kept telling everyone who would listen that she has a sore and itchy bum. And it wasnt getting any better so on Saturday night I decided to take the plunge.

This is the 2nd day without nappy overnite and she has been dry both times!

I do expect an accident here and there, she sleeps on a cot liner...but her bottom is almost all healed and she seems ok with it all. I really did think it was gonna take another yr or so to do away with nappies overnight.

Congratulations on being a big girl Charlotte! (and congrats on this milestone to you too Ana!) it's bitter sweet really isn't it?

I have just bought one of those bed mats from ebay for Cody and am waiting for it to arrive so I can give it a go! I am sick of changing PJ's in the middle of the night and then having him in our bed for the remainder of the night! Hopefully Cody will get better soon or I am considering returning to the night nappy

Good luck to Charlotte - hopefully not too many night accidents in your house!

Marnie

YAY for Charlotte, wonderful big girl news in your house!!

We have just gone back to night nappies for Abbey She started out so well but it seems as the weather got colder the accidents got more common. Easier to just pop a nappy back on than have 3 zillion wet sheets every morning.

Seeing as Char has decided on no nappies in winter that should mean you have huge success as the cold won't be a factor in a few months time.

I dont know if its the right thing to do but I put a potty in her room in case she wakes up needing to go..I also dont give her anything to drink for an hr before bed..she asks for milk which she usually has before bed...i gave her water and she didnt want to drink it so I figure if she really is thirsty then she would have taken water?

marnie- I dont feel so bad..she can still wear her woolies overnight in case of little accidents.....and I dont have to worry about Lil TT for another yr or so. I am thinking of making some Pul backed mats for her bed too..the cot mattress protecter I am using for her just looks ugly

Tracee- I hope I am not jumping the gun celebrating this..I guess i am overexcited. I am sure Abbey will get back into it soon. Do u use a mat?

Yeah, I made a big mat the size of her bed (a toddler bed from Ikea) from PUL and flannel, but she got to the point of weeing several times a night. She also started outpeeing her 'night knickers' too so it was just easier to go back to a nappy.

You should be excited too Ana, it is a big step when your big girl decides she can go overnight without a nappy!!
