Default Wriggly worm!

Has anyone got any hints/tips on how to keep my wriggly 12.5mo DS still while i change his nappy????!! I just can't keep him flat on his back without a screaming session - I've tried giving him toys, singing (probably what started the screaming ), chatting to him.... Will he just grow out of it?! Coz i love putting a nice clean fluffy nappy on his cute bum, if only he shared my passion...!

get used to changing with one hand and holding him down with the other!! Marcus does this now and it's a nightmare. I usually put my arm across him (he always rolls the same way) with my elbow on the ground/change table under his armpit and my arm across his chest. toys don't seem to work for me as distraction. he has about 2 seconds of interest and then he wants to roll again

A friend of mine used to keep a roll of stickers by the change table and put one on bub's hand while changuing him. He was too engrossed in the sticker and playing with that to worry what Mum was doing.

Lily is the wriggliest worm too!!! she usually lies still until her napppy is off and then takes off, sometimes to hide in her cubby!! where she looks out the windows and laughs at me!!

This is my never fail change technique particularly useful for pooey nappies, the only catch is you need two people.

we change Lily on the floor, and I bf her while DH does the nappy. she's such a boob addict she'd never say no!

works for us

I second the stickers but at his age he will be able to peel them off so I think that an actual ink stamp (like a smiley face) would keep him amused for long enough.

i love the idea of stickers and stamps. i to have a wriggler and have moved the mobile over the top of the table she can pull it down but whilst she tries to i get her changed before she succeeds some times she wins, our own little race.

I keep a special thing on the cupboard next to the change table and he has that.

This time it is an ornament, not the most idea thing but it works.

Stickers sound great too.

Stickers certainly do sound fantastic

I know I'm going to be chucked in hot water for this, but DS was TERRIBLE at one stage. I couldn't possibly keep him still for a nappy change and it used to bug me to tears! I would change him on the floor and put my legs over his arms so he couldn't move NOT in a rough, abusive way... but it done the job

hmm, I suppose admitting that "staplegun" was my first impulsive thought is prolly not a good idea?
