Default On Sydney, Channel 7, Sunrise, right now

they are discussing plastic shopping bags and whether using cloth bags really helps the environment. Mel confessed that she wraps her daughter's disposable nappies in a plastic bag before throwing it away , and the environmental expert they have explained why this is expecially bad. Then Koshie chimed in about how much trouble it is dunking pooey cloth nappies in the toilet and washing them.

Would someone more eloquent and less sleep-deprived than me care to write an email about the miriad benefits of modern cloth?

I watched this and Kochie was bagging Mel for using 'sposies and then said There is nothing like rinsing out a cloth nappy - I took it as him being positive

FWIW He then asked that "Alternatives to cloth nappies" be placed on the ROS wall (these topics usually get research and then aired on the show)
So (as I am at work LOL) someone wants to send an email describing modern cloth and eco-friendly 'sposies such as moltex that would be great.

Please dont send a barage of nasty emails

They are still going - now the girls are ganging up on Kochie saying that they dont have time, too much water, Nat asked if there are actually benefits.

Vanessa, Ness, sent a cherubs kiss nappy with a sunrise logo on it and info kit to them during RNW.

Good luck to everyone contacting them

I emailed, I don't know if I covered anything or I said anything sounding intelligent but I did attach a pic of a cute baby in modern cloth. Everyone should email the more emails they get then hopefully they will talk about it more & bring up lots of new facts.

perhaps we should issue them a challenge...try modern cloth for 2 weeks..then say that disposables are easier/less work etc...and maybe do up a bit of a kit so they have no excuses..I'd be happy to donate a couple of nappies, then maybe if they find they dont like the idea after all..they could auction off the kits on ebay and donate to a kids charity or something..

I bet they have never even tried modern cloth...janine

I wish I saw it on telly, I think I've missed it now. Not sure if I can write an email about it having not seen it for myself. Maybe if i just write and say that I just wanted to let them know that there is a whole community of people out here using modern cloth, send them another pic and encourage them to look into it and they will see that there are alternatives to old fashioned terry squares, nappy pins, soaking and PVC pilchers!! oh, and send them a cute photo too, of course!!
