lol Joh - btw - see - told ya I'd see you at the next post !!!

Wems my solution is (to the 'I have to find the xyz') as I'm taking stuff off the line, there's a 'leave aside' pile - socks and jocks, pants for Jake (goes through a fair few), nappies (of course!) and any other special stuff I know I need to know exactly where it is at any given time. That pile gets put away straight away.
that and I never hang the school shirts on the line - we have a small 'clothes rack thingo' in the laundry and the wet shirts (spun) go straight on to hangers and hang their either (a) until they're needed, (b) they're dry or both and rarely that way do they need ironing AND they never get 'lost'... also on that rack is a good shirt for each kiddie because then if we have to go out at short notice, there's always something clean.
there's a similar rack in the spare room for DF's work gear - because then I can put them hung up on that under the fan overnight if needed and know they're dry AND they rarely need ironing. I sometimes put my shirts in there too save me hunting. The rest it doesn't matter if it's in the basket for a little bit because the essentials are 'done'... iykwim.

although... I *only* have five in the house so...
but you know, if any of that helps...

& I *roughly* know where (what level/side) of the basket stuff is folded in when I do baskets but if I do bed top/table I don't?
The other thing is, if it's in a basket semi-neat then it's no biggie - it's not getting walked on or anything else, it's clean, it's folded (sometimes) it's just a little... distanced from it's meant-to-be parking spot... (ie the drawers/cupboards assigned)

Nah Wems, you are a busy lady, not enough time in the day to keep up. *hugs*
when you have spare time the last thing you'd want to do is fold washing, not when there's NC to hang out at
