Kristie, Your little man and daughters are beautiful!
You are a gorgeous, georgeous baby maker! I hope you've inrolled them into modelling! Cluck cluck @ number 3

Don't 'diet' hun - just eat healthier and think antioxidants keep the sicks away from J and you- it's so hard to find the time though hey?! Healthy eating isn't always time consuming tho.

Don't rely on bub to feed on the calories you ingest - that was MY worst mistake - for me.. 28 yrs of being a skinny mini and after my #4 - WHAMMO~ I got beef!
It's been almost 16 months since ds was born, I went from a 8-10 to a 12-14 - in only 2 friggin months (between Autumn and Winter!)

I honestly need to make time for excercise - though seriously who wants to when a bub is attached to the breast for what feels like 24/7???.. Inspiration required and it's proven if you weigh yourself daily and monitor EVERYTHING going in you are mor elikely to succeed! Including what water you have (have loads - doesn't make your b'milk weaker) and DANCE like you never danced before! Results are quicker and tweaking does work

But please do take elevit or blackmore while b'feeding J

I wouldn't try to diet while BF, just eat healthy bad news for me, I put more weight on while BF rather than loose it, but it is starting to come off now anything low impact type exercise is good - walking etc

Well its been a while since I posted, so thought I'd check in. I've lost 8 kilos so far and am down to 74kg. Its beenslower than I would have liked, I was stuck on 75 for a while.

I'm looking at joining a gym, DH is working really long hours and with the days getting shorter I'm just not getting as much time to walk in the evenings as I'd like. There's two gyms here with creches, so I'm off to have a look on Monday. Hopefully they'll be nice.

Cheers

Hi guys,
Thanks for sharing your status and progress, it is always inspiring.

Kristy you look gorgeous and very un-fat in your avatar photo. Of course when it's yourself you see it differently I know. Unfortunately I put on weight while breastfeeding because of the change of lifestyle when I moved from working full time to staying at home full time with a baby - was bored, stressed, tired, and needed to constantly reward myself with food!! LOL

Then when I stopped breastfeeding I put on weight too, so that's not very helpful is it.

I'm now aiming to lose 15-20kg. I am 17kg heavier than I was on my wedding day, and 8kg heavier than I was when DS was born. I am not particularly fussed about weight in general, but I started to realise that I have become an overweight person without realising it, and accepting it as ok, when it's actually not good for me.. plus, I now have back fat. GROSS!!! I definitely need to lose that!

The thing that has motivated me HUGELY lately is acquiring a set of digital bathroom scales. I have put them on the floor outside the kitchen door and it has been a brilliant tactic! It has been really good to become more in touch with my body and the way the weight fluctuates during the day according to what I eat or drink, and what I'm wearing, and even to see the interesting fluctuations with hormones around AF time. It is vastly different experience to jumping on a normal set of scales now and then, and guessing what the needle is pointing to.

This way, I am able to track my progress much more closely, and be more sensible about my food choices - I now realise that all those little 'this won't make any difference' snacks add up.

And of course, putting them outside the kitchen door means that when I wander in that direction feeling bored or wanting comfort food, I get sidetracked by the scales and get interested to see what I weigh at that particular moment.

This sounds a tad obsessive I know, but it's not, and I'm in no danger of going overboard with it. It's just that I have found something that works for me, and in 2 weeks I have lost 2 kilos just by being that bit more aware of what's going into my mouth - it's a start at least, isn't it?

It has also motivated me to go for a walk each day, and to see the difference that makes on the scales is great.

Well, I thought I'd pop in here and say hello. I thought I'd posted in here ages ago, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe I chickened out because it's a public forum? (Can we stick it in the steam room? )

This week I went back to Weight Watchers. I feel like an alcoholic returning to AA

I've been a member a few times before - I've never actually made it to my goal weight, but I've had some success with it in the past. (It's one of the few programs that you can do while breastfeeding.) I was actually going (and doing fairly well with it) when I found out I was pregnant with Mischa. (Oh yeah, then I put on 27 kgs during my pregnancy. She only weighed 3.78 kgs, I think the rest was cake . I was 107 kgs when I went into labour. (I had been really worried I would get to 110 kg which is when the Family Birth Centre look to transfer you to the main hospital. I wish they'd told me about it before I hit the 100 kg mark!)

I returned to WW after she was a few months old but fell away from it again because my local meeting is an evening session (bathtime, bedtime etc all got in the way). So it's been almost a year since I stopped going. A bit scary going back, but I need the support and the accountability I feel that I get with WW

I'm feeling really focused this time around. I think for it to be sustainable for me this time I have to ignore the extras they try to sell you (with the books, food etc) and just follow the program. And... I'm already down to 76 kg, so I'm only 11 kgs away from my goal weight.

So in addition to my regular netball game, I'm going to walk with Mish in the pram for a little bit each day and get organised on the food front. I find when I plan ahead (with good shopping and putting time aside to prepare food) I eat much healthier. And I'm trying to recruit a friend to come along to WW meetings with me. I have a mini goal of losing 4 kgs by Easter - we're heading to Thailand for a holiday and it would be great to be in better shape by then.

It's great to see there are plenty of us heading down the same path to better health - I hope we can all support each other with the challenges along the way!
