Hi Can I join you? I am 80 kg and so sick of feeling crap when i am trying to find something to wear every day. Before I had my second daughter I weighed 64 kg so thats what I'm aiming for. This morning i got up at 5:30 and went to the gym . I am going to try to at least go for a walk every day.
Look forward to comparing notes with you all .

Emma

Wow Ana, you're blitzing through! Good on you - it looks like you've not let your illness get in the way of getting fitter. (I hope things are OK on that front though )

Larissa (sorry have I remembered that right?) - well done with the regular exercise. It must be so rewarding to be getting those kind of results. I think measurements can be more motivating than kilograms

Sounds like there's a few of us aiming for regular walks and hitting the gym. Well done everybody! I think getting started is the hardest part.

Not that I've hit the gym yet, but after netball this morning I went to check out the one upstairs and their rates are great, with no fixed term contracts. I really like the creche (Mischa is already in there on Monday mornings while I play) so I'm thinking of joining up. I might do a casual visit tomorrow to see how I like it.

I'm nursing a bit of an injury right now - I didn't bother warming up properly and stretching when I did that big walk/ jog last week and I've strained my quadricep (???) muscle - but I'm sure the staff at the gym can help me figure out what equipment I can use without bothering it too much. So, my advice for the day is: Don't forget to warm up and stretch!!

I hadn't played in about that when I started. A friend in my mothers' group was on a recruitment drive for her team and talked me into it. You know, I never really played even in high school because I wasn't that great at it, so apart from when it was compulsory in Phys Ed, I'd not played since primary school! (so we're talking in the 80s ) And now I love it - I look forward to it all week. It's great being part of a team, and I've improved out of sight. Now I actually understand the rules

And I also wanted to tell you all that I cooked something from one of my WW recipe books on the weekend - an artichoke and potato frittata - and it was DELICIOUS!! Even though I've got a couple of WW recipe books here I've not found a lot of recipes that I like, but this one was a winner! Really low on Points (for those of you doing WW, you'll know what I mean - only half a point!) and full of flavour. Great to have in the fridge so when I need to eat in a hurry, it's there.
