Default weaning

I have decided to wean DS completely after many health issues and currently taking nasty tablets that he can't have in his system.

He was having 1-3 feeds a day, but min 1 morning feed.
He hasn't had any boobie since yesterday morning.

As he wasn't feeding much my boobs aren't hard or sore, so should I just leave them or should I try to express out as much of the milk as possible?

oh, and so far so good on the weaning, as long as he has cake he is happy

If you express your will produce more.
I would just leave it and see what happens. Some people don't have any sorness or lumps when they wean so you could be one of the lucky ones
If it starts getting lumpy maybe some cold cabbage leaves?

Also try the ABA if you have any worries Good luck with it, I may be doing the same soon, I get bit everytime I feed Aiden

When I weaned Chelsea, I didn't express any off because I didn't want to stimulate my supply at all. I only had minor discomfort and within about 3-4 days my milk was completely gone.

thanks Genie
figured expressing would make more milk

I'll finally be able to do a liver detox I've been planning for a year
sort of sad to wean or the cuddles and comfort, but is nearly two years and I'm a bit over it too

I weaned my last one at 20 months, solely because I had my appendix out and therefore couldn't feed her.

I didn't express or have to do anything, I'm one of the lucky ones that doesn't have any issues when weaning.

Good luck with it.

I have been wondering about weaning too. I don't think my lad is ever going to self wean. Now that we are cosleeping (because it is the only way to get him to sleep) he thinks I am a buffet. All you can eat lol. It gets annoying.

dunno if this is true or not but caffeine can help dry your milk up mainly bc it dries you out too.

I'd just leave it - and if things get bad, see a GP cause they can give you something to help if you dont mind med's.

I had to wean my baby due to medication I needed to take, it was hard since she wasn't ready for it yet and had to go on formula(being under 12 months) plus I always had heaps of milk, it took a couple of weeks until they stop leaking! I also drink coffee, didn't seem to make a difference to my milk though! I only expressed when they were really sore, but then that's probaly why it took a couple of weeks for the milk to dry up so probaly avoid expressing if you can
