We have the breville 12volt vac master (am I allowed to post a link to it?) It is a wet & dry dust buster. I haven't made use of its ability to suck up liquids so don't know how well that works.
You would get a good half hour of usage before it runs out of charge, which is really more than enough for us. Ours permantely hangs on the charger and we just grab it for a quick clean up when the kids have spilt something. It retails for about $79.95, but if you shop around you should be able to get it for closer to $60.

We've got an Electrolux Super Combi which is a re-chargeable stick vacuum with detachable hand-held dust buster. It cost me $100 and it is fantastic!! I whip it out just about everyday to clean up mess the girls have made. It's great for the car too.
