Default Think Twice

There have been a number of threads around here lately that I would consider "bashing" in one way or another. These types of threads are not acceptable. The choices people make in how they raise their children are personal choices, theirs, not yours. No one has the right to criticise the decisions a parent makes in raising their children. You are free to raise your children as you see fit and no one has the right to criticise your beliefs or parenting styles. This includes the choice between cloth and disposable nappies, attachment parenting, controlled crying, breast feeding and bottle feeding.

We are all parents, we all love our children, so please be respectful of the way WE CHOOSE to raise our children. Think twice before criticising any parenting methods and take a look at the way you raise your own children. Would you like someone to tell you that you're doing it all wrong and your choices will have a negative impact on your child's future? Just because you believe it's right, doesn't mean it is.

Nappycino is a place for the cloth community to gather and support each other, to learn new techniques, share our cloth nappy experiences and learn about new products. A place to make friends, not invoke arguments, cause rifts or belittle those who don't agree with OUR choices or conform to OUR moulds. Please help to keep this a pleasant place to be....

Thanks Jo! I love coming here (even though I can't sew a thing) to talk cloth.

Hi Jo,

It looks like you removed a couple of the threads and I think that is understandable.

Somebody posted just now on another site:

Oh Clothie just wondering which other forum it is that you, butterflie dreamer and MOR chat on and can we join in?

I agree, let's keep it a safe place to welcome people to join.

Peace,

Fiona

I was actually saying to DF tonight, how I love this forum, as its the only forum I am part of that doesn't have constant fighting and bitching going on.
I hope that never changes

I think its helpful that we all agree about similar things (eg: Cloth nappies) so theres no need for cloth vrs disposable debates etc).

Great work Mods!

-Tina

I am happy this has been said and some posts deleted, I actually have never expereinced bitchiness on forums I post on (obviously I dont get around enough) and have been rather shocked at what sme people have said to others.

Kelli re your longie thread, it is such a shame that a question innocently asked turned into something quite different, I actually wish I'd just refrained from commenting and was quite happy to see it disapear today

I love this palce..it is unique and all about WAHM's and cloth, but I really would like to see us all grow and support each other not drag down people who are new to this area, because lets face it, wouldn't we all prefer to buy the best quality products from our own shores?..competeition is healthy and inspirational..

Very well said Katanya. I agree that competition is healthy and inspirational as long as it is done is a friendly manner There is plenty of the nappy/cover cake to go around

I will refrain, in future, from expressing my thoughts about specific full-time disposable users

Bec.

I have seen this mentioned a couple of times on the forum, including in the last day or two, that it is hard to convey a tone of voice in the written word; it doesn't even work with smilies; and often a comment is interpreted the wrong way. I saw it happen this weekend. I read a post which someone else interpreted as nasty or critical while I saw it as a normal and even amusing remark. We need to remember this when responding, and before attacking the writer consider if it was meant in the way we first assumed. We each express our thoughts slightly differently.

This is a nice board and I enjoy reading it
