I second Richmond as a place to visit with kids. We went in May this year and it was fab! We also drove up Mt Wellington (but didn't have time to get out!), did the botanic gardens, took the kids to the Museums (the state one and the maritime one), and best of all was Snowy Range trout fishery. You don't need to take anything. You can hire rods there. You have to buy what you catch but they clean and gut before the weigh. The guy actually prepared the fish for us to bbq and we had it for lunch beside the pond where it was caught. He also threw in a salad as well and provided plates, cutlery, serviettes the lot! It was a really great day out and the one the kids remember most. My kids are 7, 5, 3 and 1.

Hehehe Carla mine do too! Such a hefty price tag associated with them though LOL
Ethan actually asked me this morning if we go to Movie World tomorrow. Poor lil boy was shattered when I told him that's not where we're going :s One day son, one day ![]() Reading this thread has put a little excitement in my bones rather than the dread of packing and organising everything LOL Thank-you all so so much! ohh yeah - russell falls - that's nice to go to...and there is a trout farm near there.
Doo town is funny! we took a photo of one with a swearword in it, but that was on the stolen camera - can't remember what it was now, might have been "doo f*** all" or something like that? hehe imagine naming your house that. If you go to port arthur, do the cruise thing.... I'd been heaps of times to port arthur, so I find it a bit boring now (my parents used to supply leatherwork to the shop that got demolished after the shootings - so we'd get free entry )... but we went on our honeymoon, and did the cruise thing where they take you out to the isle of the dead and you see a bit more than you can by walking around, so it makes it a bit more interesting... but then I guess it's still interesting if you haven't been there tons of times before.

Oh yeah, definitely do the cruise thing at Port Arthur. That little island is so spooky, even just to look at!
The maze we went to was a hedge one, between Launceston and Cradle Mountain, sort of on the way.....wish I could remember what it was called!! Westbury! It was pretty fun. http://www.discovertasmania.com.au/h...ductid=9000646

Hey Julie, we're going in March too!! We haven't worked out where we'll stay yet, but the plan is do drive around the island - starting in Hobart, then across to Strahan, then up to Stanley, across to Devonport, and flying out of Launceston. Flights are booked, but that's about it at this stage.
