Not sure if PUL is really food safe though Eileen. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
I think the idea is wrap it in the wrap and then put it in the lunchbox to stop sandwiches and such falling apart. The the lunchbox/bag is the "airtight" bit

when you say sandwich keepers which ones do you all have?
I know what you mean about bag full of containers so we predominantly use Sandwich keeper plus (fits sandwich, then has three other spots for fruit/drink/nibbles etc), or we use the 'Urban Luncher' from TW
If I use the basic Sandwich Keeper, then I can put that in the Urban Luncher thing if I want, or separate.
(if that helps?)

(not currently a TW demonstrator btw but used to be, currently only do small orders for fam and friends/parts replacement/warranty replacement that's it - so not scamming for orders just if I can help you make better use of your TW then you're happy too lol)

They look like a great idea! But I would be worried that daycare would throw them out too.

Wow, thanks for that Donna! I never even thought of food safety.

I did a google search and found heaps of bad stuff re: vinyl and food but nothing re: PUL. Apparently vinyl can leech lead onto food and overtime can be really bad for our kids. The soft plastic lunch boxes are apparently the worst culprits as they're lined with vinyl (eek Jade has a soft plastic lunch box!)

Anyway, am still searching the net about PUL and food. Some mums at Mothering.com have said they use PUL for food wrappings but I need to be reassured more! I'm assuming that the wraps above are using some sort of food wrapping with no lead.

I have both the basic one and the sandwich keeper plus. At Miya's preschool - starting Wednesday....we are encouraged to send a piece of fruit for morning tea (Miya is intolerant to salycilates so it's pear, banana or sometimes apple) so I need a larger container for the fruit. Everything has to be inside the lunch box.
I get heaps of use out of the TW sandwich keepers at other times - awesome for snacks and car munchies

Oh Kristy you are sweet! We already have a lunchbox that will hold everything. It's just that I would have to wrap the bread/ricecakes/tortillas etc in some kind of wrap to keep them from roving all over the lunchbox and falling apart. Very kind of you to offer though
