hee hee! when I saw the title of the thread I thought "wonder if that could be my display?" ![]() It's not as good as the one I've had in there last year, but I was in a rush. Some of the stuff in there belongs to me (including the cow print with the tail ) just to pad out the advocacy kit a bit too. Last time all the brochures were taken and then some, so fingers crossed it attracts as many people this time around. The display will be there until the end of Feb. There's also a display of posters on the environmental benefits of reusable nappies, which is up in the foyer of the council chambers (just up the stairs near the library for anyone who knows the library). That just went up yesterday. Hopefully that attracts some interest too! |

don't see why not Wems.
all you can do is ask! this library has changing displays all the time. I'm going to book another MCN display for later in the year also, and I'm looking at other libraries too. Just ask and you might be surprised!

![]() actually, it was suggested to me originally by a contact within the council who was helping me with some displays/events for last years RNW that the glass cases outside the library were available for displays of stuff like this (I had no idea before, but always wondered how people got stuff into those cases). So I just contacted the library, found out when they had an opening for one of their cases, and booked it in! I discovered that a lot of libraries do the same thing, so you just have to go find out when they are available and make a booking. They probably wouldn't allow anything on a commercial basis (ie, you couldn't promote your business in it) but they are more geared to community groups/events type things, so an MCN advocacy display fits perfectly. |

it's just dawned on me why i've been confused.
REUSABLE NAPPY WEEK = October THIS year Downunder Nappy Hunt = March THIS year i think they must have been on previously maybe in the same month, so in my head (full of cotton wool!) i associated them to be TOGETHER, on at same time. i remembered SOMETHING was on during October, so it's RNW. Hearing the display was up, made me think i was wrong, and RNW really WAS going to be on in March - made sense to put up a "teaser" one month before. The year i became pregnant, i found out about RNW on the Monday AFTER it had been on for a week. Lots of great activities, even a DIY sewing workshop! things i was so cross to have missed. That's a good idea to think of things in your own stash, that you could live without for a bit, to put in a display. Locked in a glass cabinet, going to be pretty darn safe. I think i could whizz up labels on a piece of cardboard, descriptors for each MCN item, but are there big glossy posters, to put BEHIND the display, something to grab people's attention from a distance? Is this type of thing only available to whoever has the advocacy kit for that state at the time, or can other people do their versions (using their own MCN) but with some advocacy posters from - i guess, somewhere like ModernCLothNappies? would like to do it, but would like to do it well, (weight of responsibility, don't want to represent MCN badly). just thinking outloud. |
