Default Bamboo towels?

I think the time has come to buy some new towels. I just can't get mine soft anymore no matter what I try

Has anybody got bamboo towels (Karen, I seem to remember that you did?)? What are they like? Are they as durable as cotton towels? I'm thinking of our bamboo nappies that have deteriorated at a much faster rate than the hemp ones. I don't want to spend the money on bamboo towels if they are only going to last for a year or 2 & then need to be replaced.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend some good cotton towels? I've only ever bought cheap towels from Target before

Lindcraft (my local one anyhow). Nice thick ones too. $19.95 each. Very nice they are.

I've got bamboo/cotton blend towels from target that are about 1 year old now and still look brand new. They are really lush and much softer than our cotton towels.

I'm a towel snob. My current favourites are Actil cotton ones. We've had them about a year and they are still so soft and fluffy. Not cheap but if you can find them on sale (we bought ours from Myer) they are really worth it.

I lay-buyed (sp?) some organic cotton ones at target when they had 30% off homewares recently. I have some of the handtowels and they are nice. Not as thick and fluffy as some towels you can get though.

hi melissa
yes i've got the target ones (like michellew up there) and apart from some colour bleaching from greg's zit cream they do still look and feel like new.
they are soft even when line dried (though softer if tumbled) and super absorbent.

before these we had david jones towels which lastest about 10years - we got them on sale back then for $60 ea.

i'm one of those terrible folk you see walking around the linen (and fabric) departments feeling everything in search of the perfect towel/sheet etc (we've got 1000thread egyptian cotton sheets too - i'm old enough to want good stuff that lasts now - lol)

I've already been to your website this morning Meg Still tossing up what to do though.

I've got 400 count sheets at the moment & when they need replacing, I'm getting 1000 count ones too. Can't wait!

I was going to buy some bamboo towels and then DH surprised me and bought Country Road towels. OMG I am in love. They are so thick and really dry you well. I even went back and bought 3 more plus hand towels and bath mats
...we bought them when they were on sale in David Jones, which is always great!
