Smile a money question??

not after amounts you earn or anything like that, but am wondering how much money you all have after everything is paid for??

since buying the car & having the extra expenses of petrol our surplus is down to about
$700 per fortnight.

Do you mean after all the fixed expenses are paid Aimee? So Mortgage/rent, insurance, bills etc? Or do you mean after all living expenses?

about $250.00 a FN which $200 goes automatically into savings , so if any big bills I have to work it out after that has come out.

I see that $200 is a not negotiable

wow, $700 pf! that's pretty good.

ours is about $700 per month atm, but that is factoring in a months worth of "bills" also which may or may not come in in that month, iykwim. we do everything on a monthly basis except for quarterly bills (ie, we pay for everything possible on a CC and pay it off in full at the end of each month, bills get paid when they come in and most are quarterly).

I should point out that our home loan is very low, you guys probably pay close to double what we do for your repayments. So our savings would be a bit deceiving on that account

We were left with $791 last month & I really don't know how we did it So I will be interested to see how much we have left this month.
Our monthly mortgage payment is $2200, so that is a big hunk, but we chose to live simply so we can have a nice house.

WOW $700/FN I wish that would be about 50% of our take home pay

Savings here just don't happen although we pay heaps more on our morgage then we are required to so there is always that if an emergency happens BUT it has to be pretty HUGE emergency before I would touch our home loan
