Default Re: on water bottles

I have actually been at a playground and seen a mum take a glass bottle of water out of her bag and give the kids a drink Would've been heavy but she didn't have much else in her bag and really, 1.5kg is not THAT much to carry! I guess it really depends on where they are used, who is using them, how much they are drinking etc etc etc.

I like the look of the stainless steel ones too and thanks heaps Obsi for saving me hours of searching the net! hehehe

I have a report *somewhere* about the components of the TW plastic and why it is a safe option... Will hunt around and try to find it.

I know if you search for I think it is rubbermaid (which is a US company) their products are made from pretty much the same polymer base as ours. Both claim completely dioxin free and non-carcinogenic. Also completely free of any heavy metals as are all our plastics.

My understanding is that these are the only plastics guaranteed not to contain trace carcinogens etc even under conditions of heat.

If my study wasn't so completely feral I could find it! ARGH!

But Kristy worth talking to your distrib about... I spent about a month going back and forth with head office over this stuff before signing on the dotted line because they didn't have the info at hand. They hadn't been asked about it directly in the past apparently *shrug* and I guess people had been happy to take their word for it.

Mind you I am amazed at how few consumers actually give a flying one about this or the working conditions etc etc. Always nice to come across those who do though!!
