I've been writing emails since yesterday afternoon
SOMEBODY is going to listen to me! And just so happens that next weekend is our election for new mayor for the merging council. How convenient!!!

I agree there is a major lack of fairness in the current welfare system.

The old age single pension is disgusting and the widow's allowance is even less. I felt guilt when I told my mum how much I was getting in parenting support. And yet my parenting payments are desperately needed here for us to eat ( it's our grocery money as DH's wage pays the bills and mortgage)

guess we will all have to wait and see. as of thursday his office was telling ppl it was gone, now with all the uproar we may still get it. talk is cheap though so we will have to wait till budget night and see if he is the person we thought he was or not.
