Default Re: Does your DH/DP change cloth nappies?

DH is more possesive of our nappy stash than i am!
He doesn't mind changing them, but I make it easier for him by putting all the nappies together (whether its stuffing or clipping inserts in) first and put them on the shelves above the change table. We have two shelves and he knows the bottom one has all the waterproof nappies on and the top shelf has fitteds that require a cover. No confusion then . The night nappies are on the top shelf too but he knows the night nappies from all the others and we have a basket to the side with all the wool covers in. DH prefers the MCN, we used terry squares for a couple of years with squish and he always struggled with the folding... but is fine with the MCN as long as I 'prepare' them... he even has his favourites that i am 'not allowed' to use LOL!

DH changes Fin's nappies, he always uses the itti AIO, he knows they don't need a cover whereas the other ones he is not sure about.

DH changes nappies all the time but he will try to get out of doing the dirty ones if he can. He still sometimes gets confused about which nappies need covers etc. The other day I busted him putting a pul cover over the top of a Greenkids pocket

my DH will change nappies but leaves the poopy ones for me to clean later
we have AIO"S on one shelf and fitted on another ( i try to make it easy)

his theory is when in doubt put woolies over the top

he used to struggle with snaps and would also pick the velcro
now we only have snaps so no choice

My husband does fine with all our nappies, apart from prefolds or flats which we don't use much now that we have enough of the others. Front snap, side snap, velcro, snappis, cover, no cover, etc etc he's fine with. Plops, rinses poo, pulls inserts out too. I have to stuff them and put them away though. He is really passionate about using cloth and refuses to use disposables, says he wouldn't want paper on his boy parts so why put them on a baby's? He did say though that if something was ever to happen to me he'd come online and ask for assistance as he'd have no idea what to do with all the pieces to get them ready.

Grae changes nappies all the time After 2 years of MCN and onto the 4th bum he still plays dumb with what nappies which But as long as he changes them I really don't care

He has done MCN on his own while I am away for a few days at a time...I just leave out a basket of AIOs and leave a pile of night nappies.......I think Elizajayne helps him out alot with what is what while I am away

ETA Forgot to say Grae hates snaps he says he finds them really hard to do up

I should have added to my post the DH hates side-snap nappies & covers. Virtually our whole stash is front snap or front TT for this reason.

My DH is very involved. He changes Laila lots when he is home - doesn't have a problem as long as the nappies are all in the stacker in one piece

We are only a month or so into our MCN experience and so far I am the one that snaps all the nappies together. This is mainly because I'm still having fun with the novelty of it hehe! When I come in with the clean nappies/boosters and plonk them all down on the lounge I think he looks at it like a jigsaw puzzle of matching the right boosters to the right shells (our stash is mainly AI2s). He would have no problem learning what goes with what if I showed him but I find it relaxing at the end of the day vegging out in front of the telly snapping everything together for the next day

I am the one that mostly washes them but he has no qualms about rinsing the pooey ones and the other morning he even put a load on while letting me sleep in! Ok he did come in to ask me for specific instructions (probably was scared after I almost killed him for putting a nappy to soak in Napisan once ).

Ok he still gets confused about which nappies need covers but all in all I'd rate him pretty highly!

Mine doesn't. I was out once for longer than I expected and I came home and heard a 'help' as soon as I got in the door. DD2 had needed a nappy change and had gone and laid down on the nappy change mat. DH had no idea what to do. No idea. Other than to yell for help. I'm kinda hoping I don't drop dead before she's TT'd.

nope
In four and a half years he has changed a grand total of six nappies, thats 5 sposies and 1 MCN. And he thinks that is something to brag about.
