Mine only ever changed Alex's nappies when I was in hospital with Josh. He did do fairly well and put covers on the nappies regardless of whether they needed one or not. He hasn't changed any of Josh's nappies yet and Josh is 7 1/2 months old now but should I be suprised as it took him 2 years to change one of Alex's nappies.

my DH is great. changes nappies all the time, even poopy ones
he's even been hanging them out for me lately. he prefers to use BB's because that's all he can work out, and he does leave covers off all the time but the other night he asked me to label all the different types so he knows which ones are which, which need covers, which are night nappies etc. I hadn't even mentioned anything to him, so I think he's planning ahead for the bub

he only gets confused when i bring new things in - and then he asks - like the auriels (do they need a cover - no) he also does all the little squirting and the majority of the laundering

my DP will change our son and now after more than a year can tell the nappies apart. He REFUSES to deal with the pooh in the nappy.....he used the little squirt once and I think it squirted him in the eye....oops.
He rarely washes but hangs them out no problem. |

my dh does a lot of the changes, won't use the little squirt or put them in the washing machine though but has no issue with hanging them out, atm we don't use covers if going out just put woolies on so that will confuse him when it is necessary but he is great! he even has come around to using cloth wipes where as in jons first weeks i had to buy wipes for him (that he kept chucking into the nappy bucket *gag*)

DH changes nappies at least as often as I do and has no problems with any of the different types and covers, he evn washes them. He can put them together/fold them etc but only does it if there are none in the basket.
My Dad half changed one nappy in his life even though he had 4 kids. Apparently it was a yucky one and rather than deal with it, he wrapped my brother in a towel and then a blanket and got the lady next door to finish it .

Yep, mine does - about the same amount as me - if we're both home, I'd say he does more.
I really think it helps to have a good system. We have a basket with the 'ready to go' nappies - AIO's and pre-stuffed pockets. He just has to grab and go. We have a bookshelf with fitteds on one shelf. The next shelf has boosters (a pile of BBH inserts, a pile of bamboo/hemp boosters, and a pile of microfibre boosters. He knows to snap in the BBH inserts, and generally doesn't need the others, although he did add an extra bamboo booster to a pocket the other day for a nap! I was so proud of him, I gushed for ages. The next shelf has covers, liners and wipes. He does get a bit thrown if he ever has to piece nappies together, especially night nappies, he can't figure what belongs to what. If he does have to piece them together, he's most confident with the BerryPlush for sure. And yep, he reaches for the Magicalls first. They're such a no brainer, I can't blame him!So, I really think organisation is the key. (and flushable liners don't hurt either.) Our system is pretty idiot proof! Now if I can just get him to remember to fold those tabs down...
