Does anyone here watch Grand Designs?

I prefer this type of construction to straw bale homes - especially here in AU where the environmental cost of growing straw is actually quite a large one... water and carbon wise, as harvesting straw depletes soil (as opposed to plowing it back in as much or even burning it off and plowing in the coals)

They look great, Ali. I've seen something like that in the Owner Builder mag. There are so many alternatives out there to the conventional brick home.

oh i have watched this on foxtel last one i saw was like a massive german kit house, very modern but yeah really interesting. the whole house was done in like a couple of days!

Obsi - I saw the barge one. I couldn't believe them. Bet they sold it.

Love this show used to watch it in England.

That was the "Huf Hause" one. That was really interesting because it was so different from how the other people's houses go That and the gay couple's sugarcube beach house have been the only 2 I've seen that have actually finished on time
