Gift ideas - for nb from toddler & vice versa

DD has a baby doll that has all the accessories (including the ring sling just like Mummy's and the fitted nappies I made as experiments ) so I've made her a feeding necklace that matches mine. DH's brainwave was a nursing backrest - I have a cushion I use on the bed to sit up and feed, so he got a similar one made up. He's also bought the fabric and Mum and I are currently working out how to cover it! So DD will have the complete set for her doll just like Mummy has for the baby.

Joh, what size banana is this? I'm after one that's about 20cm tall - I think I found him on the ABC Shop website for $9.95 + postage, but I can also check out my local ABC Shop/Collins Bookstore and see if they stock it or can order it in. It was called a Beanie toy on that website, but didn't mention the size, so I'm just assuming it's the same one. Anyway, let me know, cos if you have what I want and are wanting to part with it I will be happier getting a pre-loved banana!!

Just wanted to add that depending on the age of the child, usually not the younger ones, sometimes the older sibling sees right through it - 'baby is too little to give me a gift you're making it up!' and are not impressed by the pretence.

So instead we try and think of things that are priveleges that older children get to do but not little babies and make more of their role that way.

LOL! Just like when I told DH I found them on the ABC shop website but I'd see if I could get one through the store here in town first, and he said "Yeah they're likely to run out of B1's and send you a B2 instead thinking you wouldn't notice!!"

No worries, Joh - thanks for looking anyway I think I found a few B2s on ebay, too - B1 seems hard to find! I'll try the ABC shop next week.... right now I better get off the computer and go finish packing my hospital bag(s). Another thing to cross off my list
