Talking Sand for a clam shell

DH and DS2 went today to fill up the sand for the clam shell sandpit (the kids have only had it since Christmas waiting for it to be filled!). DH is trying to explain how much sand "that big by this big shell" etc to the guy in the landscaping shop that he needs, to find out how much it will cost. Guy says with a straight face to him "half a clam shell, $3.80".

Dunno why, I just find that funny.

Love it! Make sure you put the lid on it after they play otherwise neighbourhood cats might think it is a litter tray!

LOL! I remember doing similar when I needed to fill a sandpit. I think it was about $5.00, and I tried to insist it had to be more because it was large! He was right, it was only around $5.00!

Forget metric, ie cubic metres of sand, from now on they can measure sand by the clamshell/half clamshell.
