I just got a copy of this today from our local library!! Yay! I had a reserve on it for a while - so hopefully that means lots of other people have been benefiting from it, too. I had read about the sounds, but it was so good to actually be able to hear examples of them. I think it might still take a few goes to work it out IRL (she's asleep now, so I can't practice!!), although maybe I'll get it really quickly cos I have already heard her crying so much!!

This sounds really weird (maybe it's a hormonal thing..?) but as soon as they showed the examples of babies crying (they start with Neh which is for hunger) I started tearing up!! What's with that? I got all emotional and teary hearing all these babies asking for food... I just hoe it can help me - not that I'm in dire straits or completely stressed out about what she wants, but I must say I do tend to try to solve every cry with a boob, so that might fix that problem!! Plus I want DH to watch it so he can figure it out himself, too and stop asking me what she wants (when I have no idea either!!).

Apparently it's for 0-3 months mainly, so while we're already halfway through that time period, I hope it can help us all to get through it quicker. And for anyone else considering getting it/watching it - check out your local library, they may just have a copy

lol I am glad you liked the DVD. I brought it when it first came out and it was so spot on. Amazing really!
When I used to hear other babies crying I would start leaking lol wasn't the best thing when I was out shopping!

OMG - I am using the thing already!! DD just woke up and I've gotten so much wind out of her it's not funny - with more to go... hadn't realised how much lower wind she's been having!! Now to try to find links to colic holds, tummy rubs, etc to help get it all out!!

Yay - I got Sarah back to sleep without feeding her like I would normally resort to - just by listening to her. Not once did she say Neh (hunger), just eh (upper wind) and eairh (lower wind) oh and also owh (tired) and heh (discomfort - think she got cold when I picked her up out of bed!). It feels great to have more of an idea of what she's telling me - I still need some practice, but we'll get there!

That is fantastic!! Isn't it nice to just know now without having to go through a checklist for an hour!
