My kids all have it.

Luckily, apart from the rash.............thet haven't been too sick.

I'm not going to be tested. Not like anything can be done anyway. From my understanding, most of these viruses are the biggest concern in the ist trimester.

I choose not to worry about things out of my control. I should probably mention it to my midwife at my next visit though.

ETA: When I was the GP (had to get a clearance for the girls to back to school) she wasn't concerned either.

Oh - and once the rash has come out it is no longer contageous (sp?) so the teacher or anyone else can't tell who is carring the virus until it's too late anyway.

hugs Aimee.... I got chicken pox at almost the same point that you are now....when I was pregnant with Lachie, and it scared the living $hit out of me.... so I can understand how you must be feeling being exposed to this.

I agree with Fiona, what's done is done now, stressing out isn't going to help... (easier said than done, I know, but it helped me eventually to realise that)

Aimee, do you know if the blood test can tell if the virus is active in your system or whether it just tells you whether you have the antibodies - ie. you've had it in the past?

If you were to come down with the virus, did the GP say what would happen next?

I've obviously been VERY exposed to it in the last week or two but really have to wait for a rash to appear to know one way or the other. My GP said not to worry about it because nothing can be done anyway. I'm wondering now if there is some form of treatment that she didn't know about Being a virus, probably not, but I'm just wondering what your GP said.

Hope you are in the all clear

Mega (((hugs))) Aimee...

When I was pregnant with H, C's school had a couple of cases of Rubella! The office staff rang me to tell me as soon as they knew so I could get checked and organise someone else to pick him up ... that was a small school (think we had 40 kids there.) and I was lucky though.

Hope you are too!
