Thanks for reminding me that Lindy I'll definitely be consulting with a dietician before embarking on any special diet.

Geewish..just when I thought I got it under control, the eczema flares up on her legs again!!

Her legs and arms are covered with red dry patches They're not weeping or oozing but they're just so dry and red.

I have no idea what triggers it. Nothing has changed especially her diet....it happened today so I'm looking at what she's eaten:

Toast with peanut butter
Arrowroot milk bikkies
Mango juice
apple
Chicken nuggets, chip at Maccus with DH they said they're out for a car service so they had a treat themselves.
Thins chicken potato chips (yes DH did it again!)
Plain spaghetti

Nothing is new to her I've been washing her clothes and nappies with very little detergent and did a hot wash. Also have been slathering her with lots of Dermeze and she has only had 2 baths this week. Tonight I have to resort to Dermaid cortisone but I don't think it's going to magically get rid of the eczema.

I'm so over this....

Im really struggling with this too atm Ying. I struggled with it with Houston when he was young and it eventually went away on its own cause I could never find out what was causing it. I found olive oil in the bath worked really well for him though. I only bath Delilah in bicarb, epsom salts and olive oil. Ive found this has helped a bit. I have also used the 1% cortisone for about 10 days now, but it hasnt helped one bit, so I stopped using that yesterday. I have also used calendula, paw paw, oils, and a few of the pharmacy alternative mositurisers, which all help fractionally for a short period of time (a few hours). The thing that is really upsetting me about it, is that it keeps her awake a lot of the night, with scratching it because its so itchy. I hate seeing her so uncomfortable and frustrated by it. I really really wish I could just find something to stop the itching part of it if nothing else! She is waiting for a lactose intolerance test which the pead has ordered for her, but I already know she is intolerant, and Houston & I both are too, but she has the least tolerance to it of all of us. It caused severe constipation for a long tiem with her. Its mainly milk she cant have (which I stopped at about 15 months), but other dairy doesnt seem to bother her. Eczema is such a common childhood complaint and I know many people never find an answer. Hopefully she will outgrow it soon, but its the meantime thats a struggle

People develop allergies to things they have always eaten often Ying. It could be a matter of her being able to tolerate a small amount of something, but one more serving sending her over the edge to a flare up. Mango is a common one. Is there any reason why you aren't trying anything natural on her skin? I honestly found petrochemicals based creams to only work for a short while. If is happened today, yesterday's food are most likely to be the culprit anyway. Best of luck!
