Thanks girls, so much to think about
![]() We already bought a maxi rider and DH won't go back to buy a smaller one. Trish, I think we've pretty much done with 2 kids and won't have anymore. So the age gap between them is working out quite nicely. By the time this baby uses the maxi rider, Becky should be in a booster ![]() DH is looking into a falcon and the price is pretty good for a 2006 model (not sure what model it is). $16K and we should easily sell our Jazz for about $12K-$14K , so that works out quite all right. Will talk to DH tonight about other cars out there too

Ying,
have you thought about getting a Falcon wagon on Gas? Very wide (will easily fit 3 seats in) and only costs between $55 and $60 to fill and we get about 790km from this. not the most "sexy" vehicle, but in terms of fuel efficency for size, fantastic!!

It's cheaper to buy a smaller seat than a very expensive larger car that uses increased fuel amounts Ying.
![]() I hired a Falcon when I was in Newcastle earlier this year (Shhhh don't tell anyone... ) and it came with 2 Compaq seats and I could just put Hannah's booster on the side comfortably. That said, my old Camry fitted 3 seats across the back too.

I would be more inclined to worry more about the cost of the car to run as well. A big ford is going to chew lots and lots of petrol. While we have two cars (one being a 4WD), my car is a Subaru Impreza (mid-sized car). Its five years old and still runs like a dream and can quite easily fit two Maxi Riders in it.
Things like economy, safety, maintainance all come in for me. Although, I must admit, I like a nice looking car

Not if it's on gas (as a PP said) ours is on gas (only gas, no petrol at all) and it is far more economical than our smaller Magna was on petrol. Lots of newer models out there with gas only (our ford is a 2002 model so I'm sure you can get a later model that has gas only somewhere).

DH said with the falcon, we can convert it into LPG in a few months and get subsidided (sp?) by the government so he's very keen

A 2006 model for 16k is going to have alot of km's on the speedo
![]() We got our late 06' vz holden wagon with 12k km's for $30k.....at the start of the year I would be getting the smaller seat too

I was going to say that too Aimee
Our 2002 model was approx $15k (late last year) and it has fairly low kms for it's age (was a fleet car even). I would be checking out a later model that's going for that price very carefully Ying.

Correct me if I'm wrong(I probably am) but I thought if you bought a petrol car and got it converted rather than buying it just gas the tank has to go in the boot??? That'd mean less room for prams and such wouldn't it??
And I thought I heard on the news about a month ago with fuel increases the waiting time for a conversion was late in the year??? Just a thought.
