Total long shot- e-tax help

I have done my return and no worries at all but i can't get Shauns to work.

I am having trouble getting past a review section.

I have put in his work deductions in the D5 section and for some reason it won't let me lodge it cause there is something wrong with it.

It is over the $300 but I truly can't see what is wrong with it. It has written down the bottom. "data exsists for this item that must be reviewed before lodgement"

I have tried everything but have got no where

Any etax smart out there.

Did you roll-over from last year? There may be something that has carried forward from that year. The only thing I can think of in that area is maybe you claimed a depreciation deduction for something and need to go into that section to check it.

Let me know if that doesn't help and I will have a bit more of a look for you.

Sounds like you rolled over from last year. You need to go through all the deduction sections & you will find info from last year entered in one of the sections. Delete it & then you will be able to lodge the return.

I can't see where something has transfered over from last year.

I would just start again then if I was you & don't use the roll over function - that's the safest way imo - I used roll over this year for DH & just deleted the old stuff from last year that I didn't need.
Maybe there is a glitch in yours.

Do NOT start again!!! It is just a tax office warning, because there is a tax rule that states if you have over $300 of deductions you must have supporting documentation. There is a button (somewhere down the bottom) you can click, or on the left hand side in the navigation menu, you can click on the next step in the sequence to by pass this. Oh shit I just started again and it worked. Oh dear.

I did it without getting stuff sent over from last years and it worked. I have all the documentation to support everthing .

No this is the annoying part he never gets a return we always pay which sux.

If it didn't lodge you won't get into trouble - you were only in the work pages. If you're worried, call the ATO tomorrow.
