Default My first bee sting!!

For the first time ever in my life I got stung by a bee

I had just loaded the boys into the car after some grocery shopping and as I went to get my purse and phone off the top of the pram I must've swiped the bee and got stung on my middle finger.

OUCH - I can't believe the amount of pain! Is there anything I should do - should I see a doc? It's become really red and slightly swollen, and I put some dettol on it.

Is the barb it in your finger? If so drag it out with your finger nail don't pick it this will put more of the poison in your blood stream and then put some ice on to stop the swelling.

It will be sore for a little while I would not bother going to the doc as it sounds like you are not allergic or you would of had a reaction by now. Could could try applying Calamine lotion or a paste made of baking soda and water, this will help.

((((hugs))) poor you! Bee stings really hurt!!

It is very normal for it to still hurt... beestings are very painful and the pain can last a long time.

Ice, and any type of anti-histamine will help a lot (such as polaramine)... your local pharmacist should be very helpful if you are unsure.

There is no need to go to the doctor for a bee sting unless you have a severe reaction and you would normally know by now...

Do you have any papaw ointment? Papaw is a natural antihistamine.
I got bitten my green ants the other day for the first time & I couldn't get over how much it stung - my hand started to swell!

I wish we had veggies - that's on DH's to do list.

I might try the pawpaw ointment - I have some of that.

Much of the pain has subsided, but it's still swollen, red and tender to touch.

Who would've ever thought it would hurt sooooo much!
