This may be old news... but the choice has always been Sigg in Aluminium or get a stainless steel drink bottle from Kleen Kanteen (and more recently ECOTanka)...
but there is now a stainless steel Sigg bottle: butt natural Looks pretty cool too ![]() Oh, and Kleen Kanteen have started making bottles in colours at last! (Not much colour choice though...)

There was a whole dicussion between the parents in Jake's class about Sigg bottles and in the end most of them went with the Eco Tanka ones... DH has always been skeptical about the al in the Sigg and I guess I see his point... we will be getting stainless when we can.

I have always been a bit concerned about Aluminium... We have 6 of the Kleen Kanteens (well the 6th is on it's way) and they have been great in terms of denting compared with a Sigg. We had one Sigg that looked really revolting after 1 year of a 2yo dropping it etc... the paint was all peeling off on the outside and it looked old and horrible.
One of our Kleen Kanteen bottles does have a few slight dents in it... a kid in Ben's class dropped in on the concrete a few times on purpose! Grrr!! But the rest of our bottles look great... definitely stronger than Sigg aluminium ones, and no paint to chip off and look horrible. We put waterproof stickers on our kids' Kleen Kanteens so that they can tell the difference between them, and to "pretty them up" a bit, and they have been great... even been through the dishwasher a few times and the stickers still look great.

I think that's great and yay for more choice out there.
FWIW, in a favourite blog of mine, people were talking about knitting or sewing padding for glass bottles (with seal proof tops like you see in some home-made brews) as jugs/drink bottles. So you just buy those and have the appropriate padding around it so it doesn't break as easily. I actually like this idea as glass is easier to recycle than steel.

Oh that is great! My alum SIGG's have been destroyed by the boys. What about those thermos type ones?
