Can anyone tell me what brand of iron is great?

So I hardly do any ironing, DH does his own. He want a new iron as the one we have is spitting out big chunks of calcium build up and is 'weeing' on his shirts ( spewing big amounts of water out the steam holes). Has anyone bought one recently or knows which brands are going to last a little longer than the norm? TIA

I never iron but need an iron to heat set stuff and set seams. My Mum is an ironing queen though and uses a Sunbean ultutura and so that's what i got from her reccomendation

Ahhh pity I didn't see this thread before the party as I could have dragged mine out! Will post the brand etc tomorrow but it is a good one I did Colin's shirts everyday so splashed out and grabbed one for about $90 if I remember rightly and it was/is worth every cent

I don't iron as much as I used to think it may have something to do with having five kidlets now But I do have my trust Sunbeam Ultra 55 which I have had for the last six years and it's still going strong. I love Sunbeam products so much that all of my kitchen appliances are Sunbeam

Sunbeam girl here too! Mine is a Sunbeam Ultra5550. I think it was about $80. I had my old Sunbeam for about 7 years & only had to replace it because I droped it a few times on the tiles & it started leaking water.

Just jumping on to agree with everyone. I have a Sumbeam Ultra5550. Up until recently, I iron my and DH's shirts every morning, as well as a lot of other things and love it. Definately worth spending the extra$$$. I previously had a Breville iron from when I first moved out of home and this didn't last very long.
