    Default MCN & Childcare?

    Can anyone share their experiences?

How do you go about this? (Ie what do you pack and how)

ANYTHING at all that I might need to know?

We are looking at changing dd's daycare, and Ive just been to look at a centre and was quite happy with it, and guess what! They are happy to use cloth (I think they are not 100% certain but she said cant see why not, its not a frequent request). She said they will just rinse them and pop them in a bag. Maybe I will supply a wetbag.

Im stoked about this!! So I just need some tips how its best managed?

    Thanks!!

DS used to go to a community run daycare and they actually supplies terry flats for use while the children were in care and then we would supply a home time nappy. So, needless to say they didn't have a problem with cloth.

Just pack easy to use nappies.....already stuffed pockets or AIOs/AI2s......I think some people line theirs with flushable liners just to make it easier I think personally I would send TT nappies just because i have found some people struggle with snaps

Check with their policies but some/most centres need the used nappies to be placed in a bucket with a lid so a wet bag to line the bucket would make things easier

When my kids went to daycare years ago ( i no longer have kids in care) I didn't even ask about cloth I just sent it Daycares aren't allowed to refuse as long as things are supplied to ensure polices and procedures are followed

ETA I just had a supply of peapods for daycare (cheaper and easier to get) Don't send your favourite nappies that you would be upset if they go missing because there has been a few cases of MIA nappies at daycares

dd has started at daycare recently and the girls at daycare are fab when it comes to meghans nappies

i just asked and they said sure.
    what i have done
i got some second hand magicalls old style without pockets ( i send about 6 - 7 ) - just about the easiest nappy i could think of, applix, no extra bits and no cover. i have a swimming bag that gets used as a wet bag for meghan cos a full days nappies is a little much for the other bag i have. they dont rinse them unless they are pooey and then i am now going to send the smaller zippered wetbag for poopey ones and ask them to put them in there first.

i havent had an issue yet and only once she has had to be changed cos of a leak.

    Thanks

I think I might send her with her peapods! (Might need to get a couple more though)

I hadnt thought about that, I would have sent her in my favourite nappies!!

my centre was happy to use cloth - even though we are the only ones
i started my sending the easiest one - with TT but now that the little devil can take them off i tend to send ones with snaps
( they kept finding him after a sleep with no pants and no nappy on )

I also send a bucket which i leave there for the 3 days he is there and just take the nappies to and fro in a wetbag.

and i do still tend to send my favs - i like to think one day someone might comment on how good they are!!! and i haven't lost one yet ( touch wood )

Alastair's centre is fine with it - he was actually the second child there in MCN! I took one along when we went for a look/trial, to show them how easy MCN are (but then they already knew snce they had the other boy there).

We send mostly Green Kids pockets - if they're inthe wash then I send other Aplix-fastening AIOs or pockets. They just put them straight in the wetbag I supply and I take that home (he only goes one day a week). He hardly ever poos at daycare, saves it all for me

this thread is making me feel more hopeful.... I was under the impression that a lot of them wouldn't let you do cloth, and I won't be doing the sposies thing.
Not that Lachie is anywhere near ready to go yet, but I've been thinking about it.....

We do cloth at childcare, I send a big bucket with Squish's name on it. He has homemade pockets with velcro. I also send along a container with our homemade wipes in. The first daycare was funny about it and I just told them that he was allergic to disposables... the daycare he is at now didn't even blink... until she saw it was terry flats... they are great at his current daycare

Our childcare centre was really excited that I wanted Josie in cloth. I took a few styles along (all variations of AIO's) and asked the carers which ones they were more confident using. After a few trial days, they settled on itti d'lish (surprise surprise lol!!). I send about 7 nappies, cloth wipes and a large double wetbag - they put the wet ones in one side and the poo ones in the other. She only ever uses 4 nappies but spares are always a good idea.
