With Gabriella he knew a girl with the same name which he liked when he was a kid
That is what made name choosing hard for us... if someone we knew had that name and we didn't like them, then the name was ruined and I refused to name her anything that someone else we knew had used (there are like 6 Johns in my hubby's family).. so that ruled out a fair few too.

Try teaching for 10 years and then deciding on a name! So many of Rob's suggestions were knocked back because I had taught ratbag kids with that name.

I think Kaylee is really pretty, not too common and I love that it has a family connection too!

If Cooper had been a girl he would have been Charlie or Piper. I'd already used up my other girls names on my girls (go figure!). I have a Casey Ashlyn, Madelyn Jade and Ellie Rose - they were my other favourites.

Good luck, I always found girls names easier than boys - just as well too.

i so hear you on that one Donna , and it always seems to be certain names that equate to ratbags. Why is that?

LOL, yeah, I would've thought that it was pretty obvious. We also have a Jorja at daycare and a couple at swimming. I'd never heard of that spelling till I saw it on CSI and now I've seen it a fair bit.

My aunt and uncle had the same problem, they are both teachers. They ended up with Terrence (Terry), Amelia and Lucille (Lou).

There are a fair few names we can't use because of bad connotations. There are some names I don't like from when I was at school. They are nice names as well and I have only known one person with each name but it wouldn't be nice to be reminded of them. But there are others from people we like. I can only imagine how difficult it would be when you see so many kids as a teacher.

I am tempted with the name Kaylee Jade. I wonder if I should mention it to mum or surprise her when bubs is born (that is if bubs is a girl).

They are nice names as well. The name Laila gives me an idea. I could have Kaylee or Kayla.
