Why Do You Blog?

My personal blog is to keep the interstate/international rellies up to date on the kids.
My business blog is to share business news (eg new products I've trialled, new stock, sales, competitions etc).
I had a rugby blog til the comp finished up. I had an IT blog because I'm a nerd, but I'm in recovery now.

My blog was purely for business but I do pop in other crafty stuff and pics and stories about the kids and if we've been up to anything really exciting. I love checking out blogs but mostly just the crafty ones. They can be so inspiring!

I have periods we're I blog lots and then when I fall off the bandwagon and don't blog for a month (like at the moment) I don't think it's a huge thing to keep up and if you can't be bothered or don't have anything to share for a while it doesn't matter. It's also a great way of documenting what you've been up to

I find that my blog motivates me . I do it mainly for business, with a sprinkling of the lil folk in it

Mine began when Brenna's original webpage became too small and I couldn't fit extra photos in. Then when her webpage had 'moved' forward a little in time from how things were originally when I made it... I need a 'chapter two' to keep things in.

As well, it saves people we know receiving photos in their inboxes (esp they have a small limit) and they can just check out the blog whenever they feel like it rather than me having to worry about whether they don't want any more emails.

I also put stuff there that I get asked often, to save having to type it up again/forget bits etc like for cakes/nappies/birth etc etc
And coz there are people who do the same so we can 'catch up' on what's happening just when it suits us.
and it's a good place for me to keep stuff (like my 'to do before birth' list) so I don't lose it and keep getting reminded.

I read other people's blogs for fun/knowlede/curiosity and catchup
but also when I need some inspiration

My blog is mainly for my craft stuff. I love reading crafty stuff and looking at what other people are making, so hopefully someone gets some enjoyment from mine.

For me mainly.

No one I know is that interested in a new nappy or outfit I sew or new carry I try so I blog to myself and whomever might want to share it with me ...my online family I guess.

I like to look back and see what I have been up too so its a diary of sorts.

I don't have a business so need for that for me, I don't tell family about my blog as I don't really want to have them involved

The stat counter that I put on my blog in June has just hit 1000 and its nice to see that people pop by and have a read and sometimes leave a comment.

Is it like a diary, mainly a record for your own use?

This is me. Sometimes to remember what I planted in the garden when lol others to just get stuff out! Only one person I know IRL knows about my blog (and I honestly don't think that they read it more than once) and judging by my hit counter and lack of comments very few people have ever read it! i find it quite cathartic to type, but often it doesn't fit into a forum, but I feel like if I don't get it out I'll go nuts . . .

I blog because I love to write. I love writing because I find it clarifies my thoughts and helps me make sense of my experiences. It also helps me remember stuff I want to remember and helps me re-learn lessons I have learnt before.

I find that blogging is more convenient than a real life journal because I used to forget my journals all over the place whereas for my blog I can be anywhere that has access to the internet and I can write then.

My blog is a public blog because some people asked me to make it public. I'm so glad I did because I have learnt heaps from people commenting on my blog and I have really taken a lot of comfort in the support people have given me through my blog.
