Here are a couple...
My grade 5 teacher (the principle of the school) taught us in part of our science class that women were created from Adam's rib, so from then on, male skeletons had one less rib than female. I of course believed him, so when we were doing science in highschool I was horrified to learn it wasn't true (we have the same number of ribs). I still can't believe someone would teach children something completely wrong... particularly since I went to a non-religious public school. A friend of mine was a science teacher doing a sort of guest teacher thing - going around to different schools teaching them science. He was basically fired because one of the schools he went to (A Catholic one) told him he wasn't allowed to mention anything to do with dinosaurs (or prehistoric man)... because that was evolution and against their teachings... as far as they were concerned, dinosaurs didn't exist, and they fired him because he disagreed. Another friend.... went to a Christian school.... and discovered he could pass most of his exams very easily.... if asked to explain the laws of physics for example, he could just reply "because God made it so"... and they accepted that as an answer....

My Sister's partners sister (so her SIL I guess
)Is a school teacher and grew up in a rural area.........believed that hens didn't need a male to have baby chicks and that female cows had one hole for weeing, pooing and birthing

Some teachers certainly say some strange things. Though I think my parents said some of these things as well
 Especially about Dungeons & Dragons.
